Exodus 16:11-32
When we were in South Bend, IN,
trying to plant a new church,
we had little money, few
resources, and few people to help us.
We really didn't have much of
a detailed plan of action and
had no experience in such a venture.
My best friend, who was also
my wife's cousin, was the pastor
of a large and still growing
church in Florida at the time.
I shared with him how God daily,
continually met our needs and
even shaped our ministry tasks.
I often got my next plan of action by
a piece of mail or an unexpected phone call!
My friend, with a huge church and plenty
of resources, said he envied me at times!
Being on the front lines,
getting calls to action and resources
directly from God on a daily basis!
No specific agenda, calendar of
activities, committee meetings, etc.!
Just me and God.
I have come to the realization
that God very often works that way.
He provides - but usually not all at once.
Moses relayed God's instructions for gathering
the food daily and only what was needed.
Jesus taught His disciples to pray for daily bread.
We walk by faith, not by sight!
What area of your life do you need
to take one day at a time and just keep
the faith that the “manna” will be there!?
Prayer: Our Father who art in heaven …
give us this day our daily bread and
help us to know that that is enough.
Help us to trust You again tomorrow
for our needs. And every day.
